E-Waste Policy

Sandarv Commodity Pvt Ltd  · Updated On: April, 2026

Given the significant volume of electronic waste generated in India, Sandarv Commodity recognizes that by facilitating the sale of electronics, we share the responsibility for what happens to those products at the end of their lifecycle. This policy explains the crucial steps we take to protect our environment and ensure strict compliance with India's legal framework.

1. What Is E-Waste?

In The Most Simple Terms: Any electrical or electronic device that has stopped working, become obsolete, or is no longer wanted.

Reminder: Most of these items contain lead, mercury, cadmium, and brominated flame retardants—materials that require careful and specialized handling.

On the Sandarv Commodity platform, e-waste includes but is not limited to:

  • Smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearables
  • Chargers, cables, power banks, and batteries of all types
  • Televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners
  • Routers, printers, speakers, and keyboards

2. What Sandarv Commodity Does

Authorised Recycling Only

By partnering solely with CPCB-registered recyclers, we ensure that collected e-waste completely bypasses informal scrap dealers. This maintains strictly regulated and authorized disposal channels at all times.

Take-Back Programme

Buying a new appliance or phone through Sandarv Commodity? You can easily schedule a free pickup for your old device at the time of checkout. We will arrange the collection, hand the item over to an authorized recycling partner, and provide a disposal certificate upon request. There is no paperwork on your end—just tick the box.

Vendor Obligations

Every vendor registered on the Sandarv Commodity platform agrees to the following as a mandatory condition of their listing:

  • Products must be properly labeled with e-waste handling instructions where required by law.
  • Vendors must not make misleading claims regarding recyclability or environmental credentials.
  • Vendors must provide full cooperation with Sandarv Commodity's take-back programs and collection drives.

Therefore, vendors who repeatedly breach these terms will face immediate delisting.

3. What You Can Do as a Customer

Responsible disposal does not have to be complicated. Here is what we ask of our users:

  • Never put old electronics or any hazardous materials into your regular trash, as doing so can severely contaminate the local waste stream.
  • Utilize our "take-back" options whenever you are going through a device replacement procedure.
  • Contact our support team to get the locations of the most environmentally friendly drop-off facilities.
  • Performing a “Factory reset” to clean your memory is crucial before handing over any old devices.

Sandarv Commodity does not take responsibility for personal data left on returned products.

4. Legal Framework & Compliance

This policy operates entirely within the statutory and legal frameworks established by the Indian government:

  • E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 (amended 2018 and 2022): As the primary delegated legislation in India, these rules establish "Extended Producer Responsibility" (EPR). By adhering to this mandate, Sandarv Commodity ensures the proper restoration or safe destruction of used products.
  • Environment (Protection) Act, 1986: Understanding the severity of this law, Sandarv Commodity demonstrates a hard-earned determination to eliminate environmental dangers that would violate the Act and trigger various civil liabilities in India and the global market.
  • Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016: With this Act in mind, Sandarv Commodity ensures that no hazardous wastes are collected, transported, or disposed of without following proper safety protocols.

Non-compliance with the above statutes is never treated internally as a mere procedural lapse. It is treated as a serious legal and reputational risk that the company actively works to avoid.

5. Review & Updates

This policy is reviewed every twelve months, or sooner if there is a significant change in applicable laws or the scale of our operations. The current version is always published at this policy page. If something in this document is unclear or you believe we have missed something, please tell us using the details below.
